arising from the implementation of the New Tax Law" in order to update the information related to the new tax law according to Mr. Hazem Hassan experience and discuss such issues to overcome any obstacles during the filing season for 2006 tax returns due to commence in January 2007. The seminar was a format of a Q & A discussion with the guest speakers Mr. Abdel Hamid Attalla, the Senior Tax Partner with his significant speech and Mr. Ashraf Al-Arabi, Deputy Minister for Tax Policy answering all questions and dealing with the issues that the audience had. The seminar was a success as our Members and guests enjoyed meeting with Mr. Abdel Hamid Attalla and Mr. Ashraf Al Arabi and learned a great deal from their notes and answers of their questions and many of the attendees made significant contributions that were strongly illustrated during the discussion.
I would like to state another successful event that happened on the 14th and that is the launch of Global Trade Matters, the international forum on bilateral and multilateral agreements and protocols, organized by BEBA and Marketing Strategies International with the support of the Ministry of Trade and Industry. The topics presented in the seminar titled "Economic Neighborhood Watch" are of a great concern to the business associations and multinational corporations as well as high profile political and economic figures.
As for both committees, The Hotels and Tourism committee and community service committee are very active and moving on the road of success. Starting with the Hotels and Tourism committee, it will strive for promoting the concept of residential tourism that was initiated by the BEBA. The committee will organize roundtables with key governmental figures to discuss issues related to residential tourism. The BEBA will also be organizing a conference on the same concept as a continuation of the Residential Tourism mission of 2005. On the other hand; the community service committee has a busy schedule too. First, Mr. Ahmed Dakrouri's new project collaborating with Dr. Nabil El Mogy proposal discovery of the benefits of the Jojoba plants as Dr. Nabil is keen to cooperate with Mr. Dakrouri as he needs a large area to plant. It was agreed by all members that the project's objective has a lot of benefits such as large number of employment opportunities will be created in upper Egypt, fair Trade and a positive market environment will motivate growers to improve their growing methods, planting spices, and medical herbs that can be processed in Egypt. Last but not least, the project facilities will provide exporters and international importers with export-ready products to their specific market requirements.
Best Regards, Mohamed Nosseir |
